Our Trustees bring a range of perspectives, experiences, skills, and networks to support the success of NELGC.Trustees act as ambassadors for the charity and have legal responsibilities, including oversight of governance, financial management, and reporting. Full guidance on trustee responsibilities is available via the Charity Commission.We are always happy to discuss the role with anyone who would like further information.

As a Trustee, you would be expected to:Attend approximately three Board meetings per year (dates are agreed in advance to accommodate availability)Participate in meetings that review the charity’s programmes, finances, and governanceOccasionally contribute to working groups focused on specific areas of the organisationVisit and engage with the work we deliver where possibleAct as an ambassador for the charity, promoting our work across Hackney and LondonSupport the Chair in the recruitment of senior or executive staff when requiredBe appointed for a three-year term, with an expectation of commitment for at least this periodBoard meetings may be held online or in person where appropriate.

Depending on your skills and availability, you may also:Support recruitment and selection of key staffMentor or advise staff members in areas aligned with your expertiseIntroduce the organisation to potential partners, supporters, or fundersOffer specialist input or volunteer time on specific projects or initiatives
