To book:
All children, including existing squad members must attend
a trial to be allocated a place in the correct Squad.
The cost of the trials is £10 per child and places must
be booked in advance.
To reserve a place please email me with you child’s full
name D.O.B and the trial they would like to attend.
WHO CAN COME?
Any child who is the correct age can attend.
It doesn’t mater if you have done any gymnastics before
we are looking for raw talent.
YOU MUST BOOK IN ADVANCE AS PLACES ARE LIMITED
WHY
ARE WE DOING THIS?
We are in a position where we will have the capacity to expand
our squad groups and offer more children the opportunity to
train to a higher level. We are aware that many children have
been on the waiting list of over a year and we would like to
ensure children are grouped in the correct ability as quickly
as possible.
The aim is to identify children who have a natural ability
for gymnastics.
We would like to assess all the children in the squad groups
including existing member to ensure that everyone achieves
there full potential by being in a group of children of a similar
age and ability.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN
We will assess all the children using these areas of assessment:
Strength & Power
Core Strength & Endurance
Speed & Rebound
Natural ability
Balance, Posture & Shape
Flexibility
Mental attitude & focus
Children will be given a score on the day, you will be able
to see the scores and we can advise you of your child’s
strengths and areas they may want to work on. When we
have completed all of the trials we will allocate places into
each of the squads based on ages and scores. You will
be given one week to accept the place, after this any free
spaces will be given to the children with the next highest
score in the age group and so on.
IF YOU ARE OFFERED A PLACE A SQUAD GROUP
You must have a leotard or unitard and shorts for the boys.
These can be purchased at the club.
All children in the squad will complete a 3 month trial period,
then be retested.
If they stay in the squad after this they will be required
to have a competition outfit and tracksuit for their squad
group. More details will be given after the trials.
Most children will start with 2 hours a week and will increase
their hours as they get older and move up through the competitive
structure. The squad fees will be £10 a week payable
termly in advance.
IF YOU ARE NOT SUCCESSFUL ON THIS OCCASION
You will still have the opportunity to book onto the once a
week sessions and will be able to retry for the Squads in about
6 months time when we will hold further trials.
