LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
The NELGC Leadership Academy
is going to be a vital and exciting part of our gym club. Our
Young Leaders will be able to support younger gymnasts,
leading by good example at all times, in both coaching and
social situations.
Leaders will take
on a high-profile role within the club, working alongside,
and with, the existing coaches as well as striking out on their
own projects.
They will be given the autonomy to decide
what projects they would like to tackle, what skills, knowledge
and attitudes they want to develop and along with this, the funding
to be
able to complete courses which will best suit their needs.
The intention of the Academy is that Leaders develop a greater
self-awareness through
reflecting upon their experiences, learn how to assess their
current abilities and be able to target aspects of themselves
that they would like to extend, whilst working in a professional
environment.
The age group this applies to is 13 - 25 years.
